The Valley Swing Shift offers three distinct shows...

The Hollywood Canteen

2 and 1/2 hours with intermission.

This show takes place on a summer evening during WWII in the Hollywood Canteen. The band is in WWII army uniforms and is surrounded with military personnel anxious to be entertained by dancing with volunteer girls and anxious to see and meet famous film, radio, and stage stars that are also volunteers. As the evening unfolds, the audience gets to see and hear some of the greats of that era, such as The Andrews Sisters, Abbott and Costello, Spike Jones and the City Slickers, and a surprise guest or two. There is also a segment that honors veterans. This show has been performed many places: from the stage at the Bushnell Auditorium (Hartford, CT) to a stage on the back of a truck at Westover Air Base.

Tribute to the Big Bands

2 and 1/2 hours with intermission.

A tribute to the great bands, soloists, and singers of the past as their music is relived. Each song is a little bit of history.

An Evening with Frank Sinatra

1 hour 45 minutes

Vocalist Patrick Tobin has captured vintage Frank Sinatra. Not only has he recreated the wonderful Sinatra song styling, but he has the Sinatra patter and audience rapport down pat. This show was first played October 2, 2003, before an audience of more than 7000 at the Fryeburg Fair in Maine and most recently at the Hu-Ke-Lau Restaurant and Supper Club in Chicopee, MA.
